University students from across Australia are reminded to get their entries in for the
Corporate Social Responsibility Essay competition, which closes on 29 October.
To enter the competition, which offers a prize pool of $6,000, students are invited to submit a 2,000 word essay on one of four topics concerning corporate social responsibility.
The competition, an initiative of the Prime Minister's Community Business Partnership, is an opportunity for students to think about the changing role of business and how socially responsible businesses help their local communities.
The winning student will receive $2,000 in cash. In addition, his or her university will be awarded $3,000 to be used to buy a learning resource such as a computer or library books.
Second prize in the competition is $600 and third prize is $400. The short listed entries will be published on the Partnership website and the three winning essays will be published in the Partnership newsletter
Community Business.
The Prime Minister's Community Business Partnership is a group of prominent business and community leaders who provide advice to Australian Government on issues including corporate social responsibility and community business partnerships.
One of the key roles of the Partnership is to promote individual and corporate social responsibility. The essay competition hopes to get young Australians thinking about their impact in society and how business leaders can be leaders in their communities as well.
Entries close on 29 October 2004 and winners will be announced in early 2005.
