Commonwealth Disability Strategy

Monitoring and Reporting

All organisations are expected to assess their performance against the indicators specified in the framework and report on progress in their Annual Reports. However, individual organisations have the flexibility to set their own goals and targets and to adapt the means of measuring their performance to reflect the unique nature of their business requirements and current level of progress.

The Disability Policy and Co-ordination Branch is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Strategy and progress made by organisations in improving accessibility for people with disability. This monitoring takes the form of ad hoc reviews of specific access issues, such as public information being made available in accessible formats, as well as progress in implementation of the Strategy and the cost of reporting.

The Strategy recognises that there will always be different levels of performance within and across organisations.
