Applying the Framework
The Guide is divided into separate sections which deal with the individual roles described in the Commonwealth Disability Strategy. Each section describes the roles and the desired outcomes to be achieved by organisations which perform these roles. Performance indicators and measures are detailed for each role as well as guidance on how to apply the performance reporting framework.
The performance indicators are based on addressing the major barriers to access identified by people with disability:
- including people with disability in consultations about issues which affect them;
- making information available to people with disability in accessible formats;
- providing complaints/grievance mechanisms through which people can raise concerns.
A glossary is also provided to ensure a consistent understanding of the terms used in the framework.
