Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Other Legislation Amendment (Emergency Response Consolidation) Bill 2008
Content:Make necessary amendments to the special measures to protect Aboriginal children in the Northern Territory:
- prohibit R 18+ television programs in prescribed areas;
- permit certain prohibited pornographic material to be transported through a prescribed area;
- revoke changes to the permit system that commenced on 17 February 2008; and
- provide for certain roadhouses in remote areas to meet the licensing standards for community stores.

Social Security and Veterans' Entitlements Legislation Amendment (One-off Payments and Other Budget Measures) Act 2008
Content:Give effect to measures announced in the 2008 Budget to provide extra assistance for certain older Australians, carers and members of the veteran community. The first two measures involve making one-off payments to certain older Australians and carers. The third measure provides for holders of concession cards, who travel overseas for short periods, to retain their cards for a period of no more than 13 weeks.

Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Other Legislation Amendment (2008 Budget and Other Measures) Act 2008
Content:Amend the social security law, the family assistance law and related Acts to implement certain 2008 Budget measures. Make some minor policy and technical amendments to portfolio legislation. Notably, includes amendments relating to the:
- $150,000 income limit on family tax benefit Part B and baby bonus;
- payment of baby bonus by instalment;
- change to baby bonus indexation;
- extension of baby bonus to older adoptions;
- collection of tax file numbers to ensure eligibility under the Commonwealth seniors health card income test;
- voluntary agreements entered into under the income management regime;
- eligible age for partner service pension; and
- restored use of the value of net fringe benefits for the purposes of the family assistance law.

Indigenous Affairs Legislation Amendment Act 2008
Content:Make amendments to the emergency measures to protect Aboriginal children in the Northern Territory, through amendments to the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007. Also amend the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 to give greater flexibility in relation to the grant of township leases and to expand the functions of the Executive Director of Township Leasing. In addition, make provision for the further grant of Aboriginal land in the Northern Territory.
