Issue 38 | 11 April 2005
FOFMS was successfully implemented 4 April 2005. We have approximately 1200 users from FaCS and within Business Services working with the new system and feedback has been positive about the benefits FOFMS is delivering. The implementation has not been without some minor teething problems affecting various users, so we appreciate your patience.
We will be providing a series of Questions & Answers that were raised by Business Service representatives during the recent FOFMS training exercise. The Q & A's will provide you with some information about FOFMS processes as well as Case Based Funding (CBF) and will appear in upcoming issues of e-news.
If you have any questions about FOFMS please contact the FOFMS Helpdesk on 1800 020 283.

Special Issue 9 of disAbility e-news featured a list of participants kind enough to give of their time and expertise to assist with the FOFMS User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Due to an editing error, Elaine Williams of the Holy Cross Laundry at Wooloowin in Brisbane, was left off the list. Apologies to Elaine for that oversight and a big thank you to her, for her valued contributions over the two days of UAT.

Two training packages, Getting it Right - Administering the Disability Pre-Employment Instrument and Disability Maintenance Instrument (DPI & DMI) and Management Skills for a New Environment, were made available to help you move to CBF.
Training uptake has been favourable and all service outlets have now had ample time to attend this training. Business Services have commenced CBF transition and FOFMS is being rolled out from 4 April 2005. Therefore, there will be no further DMI and Management training. Thank you for your participation.

You must ensure that by 31 May 2005, you have selected for transition the right number of Block Grant workers to equal 25 per cent of your Block Grant Outlet Capacity, or to equal 10 per cent for early transitioning providers (that is, providers who transitioned from 1 July 2004).
In FOFMS, you will need to check the box 'Select for Transition' against the workers you wish to transition at that transition point.
FaCS will develop a FOFMS taskcard, which will guide you through the process of selecting clients for transition. The taskcard will be attached into the 'Literature' section in FOFMS.

We are pleased to announce that Brisbane-based IT development firm, Polymorphic Solutions, will be assisting FaCS to develop an eCommerce web application that will promote and extend the market reach of Business Services.
The development will follow a staged approach, starting with a searchable list of Business Services and a standardised website template, which will be made available for Business Services that currently do not have a website and would like one. The following stages will introduce a searchable catalogue of the products and services offered by Business Services and following that, facility to order and purchase those services online.
We will be contacting each of you shortly to gather some basic information about your Business and the products and services you provide to allow the development to begin.

Did you know that under the new Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines, all publicly available business opportunities are listed on AusTender?

You can log into the AusTender website, register your details and be notified of any government opportunities that match your profile. It is a free service, which will help keep you informed and up-to-date about government work for which you may wish to tender.
