All FaHCSIA funded business service providers are eligible to apply for a new NDS project which aims to assist up to 30 Business Services. Non-NDS members are welcome to apply.
The Business Services Support Project will make available independent business advice and mentoring assistance to support organisations facing financial difficulties to develop business strategies and solutions.
A panel of qualified, independent business analysts will recommend actions in response to information provided by participating organisations. In addition, a mentor will be available if required to assist Business Services to implement the panel’s recommendations. Volunteer mentors will be selected from leaders within the Business Services sector.
In forming the panel NDS has partnered with Social Firms Australia, which will provide two independent business analysts; a third member is an experienced Business Services CEO with financial expertise.
While the project is funded by FaHCSIA, the Department will not have access to the information that organisations provide to NDS. However, FaHCSIA will be informed of the organisations identified for assistance and of the panel’s recommendations in relation to these organisations.
The funding does not extend to providing direct financial assistance to Business Services with viability concerns.
Business Services that believe their future financial viability is at risk are invited to register for assistance. The application package contains a project description, application instructions, an application form and a diagnostic template. Non-NDS members can access the package by contacting the Case Based Funding Helpdesk on 1800 034 887 or by emailing helpdesk.cbf@fahcsia.gov.au
Services are asked to complete the application form and required documentation, and to submit it to NDS by 28 June 2008. The documentation will be forward to the panel for analysis and consideration. If the panel receives more than 30 applications, it will select the 30 it believes are in most need of support.
Potential Business Services should submit their application to NDS by 28 June 2008:
